Fashion and Luxury on the hunt for talents

Fashion & Luxury expect a boom in hires over the next few years and industry leaders plan events with this in mind

A report by Excelsior-Unioncamere forecasts that the fashion industry will need tens of thousands new jobs to be filled over the next five years. The industry institutions therefore are on the hunt for talents, launching initiatives to match supply and demand.

The Fashion Talent Days of Confindustria Moda

The 2022 report by Excelsior-Unioncamere points out that in the 2022-2026 period, fashion will require 63,000-94,000 hires, according to the economic situation. In response to this need, in November, Confindustria Moda launched the second edition of the Fashion Talent Days. The Italian federation which brings together the seven associations of textiles, fashion and accessories has taken advantage of this event to illustrate the over 40 professional figures the industry will need in the coming years.

The initiative has involved numerous leading companies in the industry: each with their own digital stand, to introduce themselves to potential candidates, describing the roles they were on the lookout for and hiring new personnel. Also found on the website, the technical high schools of some of the main areas of “Made in Italy”, with the purpose of presenting themselves to young people and their families and to illustrate the educational programs offered.

The Fashion Graduate Italia of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda

Meanwhile, in the “physical” world, the eighth edition of Fashion Graduate Italia, format of the Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda Ente del Terzo Settore (third sector bodies) was held. Always held in November and hosted at the cultural center in Milan, BASE, the event brought together the best Italian institutions and schools of fashion, with the objective of connecting the educational system with sector industry.

The most important development this year was represented by the “Talent to Talent” project: a focus on the most promising students from the most prominent fashion and design universities from all over the world. Special guests of the first edition were the cities of Daegu in South Korea and Osaka in Japan, which thanks to the collaboration with the City of Milan have strengthened the international cooperation between the metropolitan city and the rest of the globe.

Technologies in support of Fashion & Luxury, internationalization and answers to activities in clear growth: all the factors we may encounter during these events are also the founding elements of Bizeta solutions.
